Katie Ashworth (Partner)
Katie returned to the Westcountry having spent seven years training and working as a corporate lawyer with City firm, Clyde & Co. Whilst with Clydes, she worked for a number of high profile clients including Pacific Dunlop, Credit Suisse, Swiss Re and Winterthur Life, and NCM. Prior to establishing Murrell Ashworth LLP with Hugh Murrell, Katie and Hugh spent four years working as a team advising clients in the region on company and corporate matters. She has extensive experience assisting both small and medium size enterprises across the Westcountry. This knowledge extends to company and business sales and purchases (including management buy-outs and buy-ins), joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and all aspects of general company and corporate work.
Her particular specialism is corporate finance, an area in which she has acted for both the funders (including Finance Cornwall) and the businesses seeking funding, across a diverse range of industries and at all levels of funding. Katie also advises renewable energy businesses on all aspects of their funding when developing projects, including wind, hydro and biogas, both regionally and nationally.
