Chris Wills (Associate)
Chris joined Murrell Associates upon qualification as a solicitor in December 2007, and has taken an active role in developing the firm.
Chris’ main focus is on corporate transactional and corporate finance matters, as well as providing company law advice. Chris also advises clients on commercial contract matters. Particular recent highlights have included:
- advising the shareholders of an owner-managed company on the sale of their shares to a large, well-known national group (including complex earn-out arrangements);
- advising various clients on the acquisition of workboats and tugboats (both used and newly built) from builders and vendors based in the UK and Europe, with finance being made available by various finance providers (including Close Marine Finance, Barclays Asset Finance and Caterpillar Finance);
- advising on three separate reconstructions (undertaken pursuant to section 110 of the Insolvency Act 1986) during 2011 alone;
- drafting, and advising upon, a wide range of commercial contracts for a local company operating in the sustainable and renewable energy sectors;
- advising South West Smart Applications Limited upon its contractual arrangements for procuring the use of certain IT-based services to be provided to its members; and
- drafting, and advising upon, various LLP agreements and shareholders’ agreements (from business start-ups to established businesses looking to include new investors/members/shareholders).
